It is a personal treasure to me, as it commemorates the very first evening I met him.
A bunch of us guys from the Detroit area drove to Flint to see the Harmonicats, who were appearing at the Sheraton Hotel in Flint, and Pete was there with them. A huge plus for me! When the Cats finished their shows, Pete suggested that we all go to the El Rancho Club, where another harmonica jazz artist was appearing - Herb Forcier. There again - my first meeting with Herb! What a night it turned out to be - Pete, Herb, and the Cats all in the same club together, and me with my jaw down to my belt! I was lucky enough to think to take a picture. |
